Survival 101: 1 Option

                                 Blogger Survival 101 blogs creative

When surviving is your only option in a situation...what else is there to do? Survive.
If someone came to me before college graduation & told me I would be waking at 4AM to go to work in a different a different time zone. I would've freaked & most likely looked at them like "Girl Bye!"
Looking back on last year compared to the person I am today.... I've become pretty darn strong! Being thrown onto a plane & told to go to work in another state with none of your peers. I've got bills to pay & goals to accomplish! So my only option is to Survive
Yeah its tough. But so what?
So if you think you're in a tough situation in life just keep pushing because your only option is to survive. Survive today & don't worry about tomorrow.

I watched this Youtube video yesterday of Erica Fae(one of my favorite youtubers) and it made me so emotional. She's so strong even though she has a condition (lyme disease) that doesn't allow her to do the everyday task we take for simply taking a walk in a park or do for yourself like brushing your hair. And what does she do in her situation? Survive. It's her only option.
I feel really connected to her story being that I was blessed enough with the strength to help someone out in a similar situation that happened before I moved out of my college apartment.

Quick story: It was my move out day & I was moving out most of my things alone. My neighbor above me was panicking when I was on my way out so I asked her if everything was okay. She explained to me that her daughter had lyme disease & she needed to take her to the ER ASAP. So she asked if I could help her carry her down the I just immediately felt drawn to assess the situation. I went upstairs & saw a fragile body laying there in the bedroom. I picked her up & carried her downstairs. And the mother was super thankful & told me God will bless me for such a courageous act.
No matter how tough you think your situation is...just survive. Because its your only option.

3 Ways to Gain Knowledge

3 Ways to Gain Knowledge

Last week I was given great advice that will stick with me forever in life & also my career path. "Don't wait for knowledge to come to you. Go out & seek more knowledge for yourself".

These words instantly just motivated me to learn more about God, more skills, more everything! Personally, I've never really been handed anything in life... No handouts over here. That alone has allowed me to grow into the lady I am today. Thanks mom & dad.

So if you would like to learn more about accounting or programming in Java you should simply go out & research for yourself. That will make you a better YOU!
We can always use self-improvement.

Picktochart Infographic Social Media More Than Just A Pretty Face

It's 2015 and everyone's mother, grandmother, grandpa, great cousin are connected to social media some type of way. Social media is basically becoming an idol to many people and don't even realize it. If you can answer yes to these 3 questions then that person is you:

JetLife: Finding Your INNER BEYONCE

This is the beginning of my new series "Jet Life", simply random thoughts that pop into my head while traveling.
In just 8 months of consulting, I've learned years worth of knowledge and also more about myself. If you know me personally you know that I'm super observant and only speak when spoken to.. I've been this way since I was little it may come off as shy but I like to observe a situation before I give my input. Only a fool like blurt out without listening. I'll be completely honest at times in certain situations outside of work I tend to speak before really listening.... I realize that & now I'm working on fixing it.

4 days a week. 4 hours of sleep.

This week was really GREAT. I can't believe I'm typing that about a work week. But it really was enjoyable. I've learned so much in just 3 days and also my team is amazing.
I would just like to touch on one subject coming into this career... I honestly wasn't sure what to expect. But over time I appreciate the great times and also the struggles. I had a REALLY hard time finding my voice around all these super knowledgable people but just putting myself out there to learn more has allowed me to gain respect from others and also open communication.

I think I'd like to do an entire post on this so I'll end this here.

Being Productive Even When You Feel Like Blah

I feel like I should start an airplane confessions or something lol!
But seriously...doing things that you don't feel like doing and today that "thing" for me would be flying.
I do not feel like flying for hours & then driving for an hour to my destination.
Everyone says "it'll be okay" but you never know someones situation until you're actually in that position yourself. So will it really be okay? Like.... I just want to REST. Is that too much to ask for?
I can't give you 100% of my attention and focus if I'm not well rested (yes I go to sleep by atleast 9-10PM now but that doesn't count).
I need a weekend to just lay on the sofa & just look like..
No phone calls. No text messages. No emails. No computers. A weekend without technology.
Sounds amazing!!
But mama gotta make that money because no one else is going to pay my bills.
How do you stay motivated when your mind is foggy? Or not well rested...? Any solutions?

Travel Chronicles: A Very Long Week

Travel Chronicles Consultant Life

My work week is basically Monday-Thursday. At the beginning & end of the week I spend on a plane traveling to work or from work lol...sounds amazing right? It has its perks....BUT it becomes tiring. When I get home I barely have energy to even visit family or go to dinner with friends I just want to lay laptops. Just my sofa & marathons.
And it's only the beginning. So I continue to pray through the low points & also the days when I get really good news because I know God is protecting me as I travel on those planes for atleast at least 6-8hrs a week.
I really will try to continue to be consistent with my blogging because it's my happy place!

Monday Mayhem: Girl||Woman Boy||Man

5:35AM--My mom called 10 minutes before my alarm went off lol! And when I'm waken up before my alarm I'm so grumpy. But I'm thankful for her being concerned about me getting to the airport on time lol! It's so weird traveling on a I literally had to power walk in both airports to get to the gate on time & so did all the other business travelers. I haven't eaten breakfast but I will definitely make it a point to grab something before going into the office!

It's really been a long time coming with my friendships from high school until now. I've prayed for quite a few months just asking God to take away people that were bad for me & didn't belong in my life & also keep the people that were supporting me & less stressful. .....And did he do it. God took away multiple people & also rekindled old friendships! I couldn't be any happier! This weekend after a long work week in a very snowy place, I was able to meet up with two friends that I haven't seen in years. It was amazing! We talked & laughed for hours & just enjoyed life.....I couldn't ask for more! They've grown into beautiful, poised women & also great wives!

6 Ideas for Work Outfits

Work Lookbook

Here are a few times on resume writing!

It's the beginning of a new year! Whether you are job hunting or satisfied with your current job, it is important to keep your resume updated!

Tips on Resume Writing Building

Midweek Motivation.

"When Things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and debts are high,
And you want to Smile but have to sigh.
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest, if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As everyone of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won if he'd stuck it out,
Don't give up though the pace seems slow,
You might succeed with another blow.

Success is failure turned inside out,
The silver tint of clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems afar,
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit,
It's when things seem worst that you mustn't quit."

--Edgar A. Guest

Shout out to Mills! I can say this poem without looking at it lol!

This week has been very eventful, from being stuck in an airport for 6 hours to scraping snow off of my rental with my bare hands lol!
I've been feeling a little out of socket(not sure if that's the right phrase). Like I don't belong in this...
line of work? I'd rather be surrounded by people that I actually have things in common with, not pretenders that don't want to hear your opinion because you're 30 years younger.

Focused on Christ

Now that the new year is here and everyone is setting new goals/resolutions. It is important to keep your #1 priority at the top of that list. When life happens and things just doesn't seem to go your way or planned like you expected, I'm more than sure you lean & trust in God during those times. It's not only in the hard times we should trust and believe in Him. When life is GREAT and going as planned it is important to remain focused on your #1, God, because without Him you wouldn't be in that awesome situation or raised a promotion.

For example, before I graduated from undergrad in this past May I was blessed with a great job as a consultant and given the opportunity to fly to multiple places. I thanked God for that blessing when he first blessed me with it, but then I began to complain about travel, salary, work, normal work complaints. Through it all, I couldn't see that God has a bigger plan for my life and this is just a stepping stone to His plans. For God to truly bless you, you must be content with the path He has planned for you not the plan you planned have for yourself. God will look at your plan and laugh.

Airport Chronicles

I was OH SO super excited about traveling for business to start off the new year. Then life happened.

Last night the airline app notified me that the flight was delayed........which makes no sense to me because my flight was for 8AM so how can they know the flight will be delayed the night before?

6AM -- I woke up super excited  ready to get my day started and ready to fly! Then life happened.
I was notified that there were no flights going to my destination at my local airport.

So after 1 flight & 3 I a random airport(I'm sitting next to the window so I'm enjoying watching the snow fall lol!)

I appreciate the moments I have to myself, to be able to just reflect on life & enjoy each opportunity God has blessed me with.

I pray that I can get to my destination before tomorrow though. SIGH....

Oh & I've been at the airport since 2PM. And my flight is delayed until 8PM. Gotta love consulting. =)

winter edition 5 packing tips for business travel

It's about that time! When I first began traveling for business, I was really clueless on what to pack. Carry on or check in a bag? TSA approved....TSwhat? Yes, I was lost but now I'm FOUND =)

LATE NIGHT Contemplation

I didn't think this blogging thing would turn into a hobby for me! But to think back on my past blogging experiences I loved Xanga when it existed...if it still exists lol.

Blogging is like a stress reliever. I can be an example to others by sharing my experiences or simply planting a seed into someone's life without knowing it. With that being said... I created this blog to write about my career journey in the corporate world thus far and also because I just love putting my thoughts out there for others to read. Technology & the internet are such powerful tools that can be used for good or bad and I intend to reach different audiences on these platforms.

I don't want to be the next Rob Hill Sr. providing "motivational quotes" that can be found on Tumblr(no shade lol!). I would like to just be known for being myself, Tiffany K. and while I'm at it I hope to display my work & lifestyle as an accomplishment that can be reached for any small town girl/woman with dreams and goals set. Don't allow your environment to define you. God speaks life into you & you have to be humble & willing to accept the things that you can't change. God's plan isn't always your plan.

WORK ....and Social Media?

It is great to be passionate about your work yet also living life to the fullest by creating a perfect work/life balance. Then we throw in social media...and it tends to get messy.

At work it is important to stay involved with other coworkers and be attentive.
Spending 8-10hrs a day at work can be exhausting but being productive/unproductive can result in getting that promotion or not.

Social Media & Work
When I see these two subjects side by side it just doesn't flow.
Like bananas and snickers or sushi and pizza or iPhone and android.
It just doesn't go together right?
Social media and work are two completely different categories and should never be mixed.

Transitioning From College To Career As many of you may or may not know, I am a business consultant for a Fortune 500 company. Transitioning from college to my actual job career has been...a challenge. But it's worth while & I can share my experience with others!

Job vs Career. (Just my personal perspective)
A job is an employment that is temporary. A job is something that you don't plan on doing for the rest of your life. And I would also go as far as saying that it's a hourly position.

A career is what you plan on doing long term. It is usually something you're passionate about (sometimes this is the case || you may hate it) A career is a place you network with others in your field to get to higher positions or to learn more about the field. In most cases you are paid an annual salary.

Smiling more in 2015! =)
 OOTD 2015
I'm ready for it all. I've created a special domain(website) just for my BLOG! And I'm feeling great about it. I plan on blogging more while I'm traveling for work & show the world my adventures! So be on the look out for more blogs to come!

I got all made up last night....just to go no where. I'm A HOMEBODY and I LOVE IT. Any chance I get to chill. That's exactly what I do. And I don't feel bad about it. I intended to have plans & get all dressed up. But the fact that I'm leaving on Sunday for work, going out just didn't sound too fun. (call me boring I don't care).
